Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely area in Assisi and you cannot really miss it in the run up to the wonderful Cathedral.

This residence, owned by the Giacobetti family sits along Via San Francesco, close to the Oratorio dei Pelligrini and is easily identifiable by the large balcony, that if you are walking close to the building you will have to duck your head to avoid hitting. It is also home to the Società Culturale Arnaldo Fortini.

We regrouped here before entering the Basilica. We had the opportunity to use the restrooms, drink some water and stroll this beautiful open area. The view from this area enjoys a full wide panoramic view of the Valley. It was a beautiful day and we were able to get some lovely shots. In fact a wedding party showed up and were taking their photos here as well.

This Palazzo is the gateway to the lower church of the Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi. You enter the Palazzo and pass through a security checkpoint on the left hand side. The toilettes (pay €.60) are located on the right hand side of the Palazzo. This area provides a nice overview of the Basilica.

Interesting place to take in the views, history of Assisi...the ancient architecture is wonderful. Just outside of the cathedral.

The Palazzo Giacobetti is a great place for a stroll and we've enjoyed it on prior visits to Assisi. This time, they were setting up for a concert, with a huge stage and accompanying lights/sound, so no really change to hang there.

Along side the Basilica is the Palazzo. It is notable for the alternating use of color in the stone used, making the palazzo at times look like stairs when it is an incline. It is a grand area from which one can take in the size and beauty of the Basilica itself.

After getting off your bus or taxi you might want to run into the basilica, stop and take it all in first. The palazzo is a fitting entrance to so complex and rich a basilica.

This palace is absolutely a sideshow, could be even more enhanced but be between the Papal Church of San Francesco, the Basilica of San Francesco and the beautiful Via Portica with the courtyard, it is quite normal that nobody will notice this equally beautiful building. However it is impossible to miss it.
