The city of Assisi is a gem Inspired by St Francis whom we all learnt about this and the other churches in town are visual delights. Recommended

Saint Clare is truly venerated in this place. Her tomb is there as well as many relics. The interior of the church is rather austere but her presence is everywhere.

This is a beautiful but surprisingly simple church . St Clare was a friend of St Francis. We attended 5.30pm mass which was in Italian, of course. However that didn’t matter as it was a beautiful experience. We had visited the crypt earlier in the...More

The basilica is in the centre of the old town of Assisi and is definitely on the must visit list for this fascinating medieval city. It is an attractive building both inside and externally and wasn't too busy mid week. Points of interest were well...More

The church is in a nice location with a good view of the valley. Inside it is rather plain for an Italian church. We didn't go to the crypt

We attend St. Clare church in the US and it was wonderful to visit the inspiration. St. Clare has a very inspirations story and it was great to see where she served. I had heard that her church wasn’t worth the walk, but I disagree...More

The Chapel in which hangs the crucifix from St Damiano is the most extraordinary place. It is possible to feel transported back in time to when the Poor Clare’s meditated befor this cross. The church is beautiful but the Chapel is deeply spiritual.

The view from the front fo the basilica is spectacular and the basiclica itself is just amazingly beautiful. The interior is interesting, but for me, the exterior is the must see.

The church opens at 6:30. The Bonnie's mass are 6:45-7:15 and then the pastor shows up. Sit in the left side of the church so you can see more of the nonnes behind the gitter.
