SAIO is the Vineyard of Assisi: 45 acres of vineyards and olive trees just 800 m from the Church of Saint Francis, UNESCO World Heritage Site. In our family farm we make small production wines which are the result of our passion and the best expression of our territory. Have fun with Pic nic and Trekking in the vineyards, Apprentice Wine courses, lunch and wine tastings and much more. We'll taste together white and red wines paired with the best local specialties.

Saio is located near where my husband and I go every year. I never miss a chance to go to Saio and stock up on very good wines for our apartment. Agnese is delightfully friendly and the tasting room -- a rarity for Italian wineries -- is lovely. She will arrange for tastings for a group, including snacks to go... More

We enjoy all of Southern Italy; especially Venice. We live in central US so not used to seeing tide coming in and out -- it was fascinating. San Marco was a great adventure. We would like to come again sometime. Hotel services were great and it is well located. Hotel staff were especially friendly and helpful.

Based on the many excellent Tripadvisor comments we (a 2 parents + 2 teens family) decided to visit last summer (2016) this Saio Vineyard. What was planned to be a ca. 2 hours visit turned out to become a nearly half day great experience. Because somebody of the steady family team/management was in hospital, we made first the walk on... I had never been to a winery tour and found it to be very informative and worthwhile. The taste testing was wonderful with delicious food and great company (our tour group). I would recommend this winery to anyone who will visit Assisi or Italy for that matter. Thank you so much!!

We were treated to lunch while we sampled several wonderful wines. Several purchased some to be shipped to our homes. I purchased three or four different wines. It was a delightful rest and most pleasant time spent with a daughter of the winery owner.

The wine tour is a beautifully located event very warmly hosted by the Saio Family. The country picnic overlooking the spectacular medieval town of Assisi featuring mouth melting local cheeses, meat, oil, fresh bread and of course the wine of your choices is phenomenal for all the senses! Getting to know about types of grape, soil, and history was a... More

The winery had lost our reservation but quickly accommodated us. It was a joy to hear the family story from Agnes. The vineyards were too wet to visit but the wine was exceptional.

Our tour group, of about 20 people stopped for a prearranged lunch and wine tasting. We were served cold cuts (ham and salami), bread, cheese and salad. We sampled the Grechetto and the Merlot – Sangiovese blend. Both were very good wines and pared well with the food. What's more, the prices were right. The staff was efficient, knowledgeable, and... The winery catered for a group of 30 for lunch and did an amazing job. We had samples of local produce with matching wines all executed magnificently by Agnese and the staff on the day. This lunch was planned from Australia and Agnese was excellent to communicate with. Her energy and passion on the day was infectious - she made... More

If you are trying to make plans and want to count on this being one of the stops don't. We tried four days ahead to confirm our stop for lunch and wine. My husband is a wine buyer. Liked the reviews we read but never could get the website to work so we emailed twice asking to confirm. Nothing. Stopped... More

I’m so sad to read your review, also because it doesn’t reflects both reality and our way of working and the mails we wrote each other can prove it. In fact I answered to your mail of Saturday 25th, just 2.30 hours after it arrived. You asked about visiting us on Monday 27th and you wrote you had difficulties in... More
