A great way to understand San Gimignano's history and that of a local family
Jun 2019
We visited this great little museum a few days into a stay at San Gimignano. The house is a wonderful time capsule of the last few generations of a local family. Left to the Italian national trust it has audit tour and room cards full of insights on the family and towns interlinked past. The AV presentation brings a lot of history to life and gives context to the changing fortunes of San G. Do this tour first and it will enhance your visit to San Gimignano's other attractions extra perspective.

Great introduction to the history of SAN Gimignano
Aug 2019
We stumbled across this on our first morning and were so pleased to have visited. It’s like a National Trust house and is beautifully restored with excellent information in each room. Stunning views over th surrounding countryside too. The highlight is definitely the film show in the attic and tower rooms. It is interesting and well presented and helps set the whole town in context. I highly recommend visiting this lovely little museum.

Great introduction to San Gimignano
Jun 2019 • Couples
It is well worth visiting this house early on if you are visiting san Gimignano for the first time- and don’t miss the excellent video presentation. This gives a brief insight into the history of both the house and the town and helps put much of what you see later ( such as the frescoes in the duomo) into context.

Essence of Sam Gimignano
Jun 2019 • Couples
On our second holiday to Tuscany this was one of the highlights overall. I struggle with museums, art galleries, castles etc but this was a fascinating insight in to a wealthy family home in the town. You are able to freely walk around each room without restrictions and admire the outdoor terrace with stunning views. There is a film / audio presentation about Sam Gimignano and the history of the family which makes you feel a greater understanding of the town in contrast to the shops.

Interesting and very well done
Apr 2019 • Couples
This was one of our favorite things to do in San Gimignano as it was very interesting to learn about the history of the area and see how a family lived in Tuscany through the years. The tour is arranged around an excellent film that gives an introduction, then a tour through the house, which is well preserved. If you buy the San Gimignano tour ticket, there is a discount for this house and tower.

History with a Human Touch
Oct 2018 • Couples
This was a wonderful find during our trip to San Gimignano- a place we thought we knew a bit about until this FAI attraction. Each room in the Campatelli home was like stepping back in time. The view inside their bell tower was amazing. The video tour with commentary in English was also excellent and visually entertaining too. This is a great starting point for anyone visiting Sam Gimignano.

My new favourite thing in San Gimignano
Dec 2018 • Friends
So worth the visit! Amazing to see how the families of San Gimignano lived by wondering the rooms of the house and seeing inside a tower. There is also an amazing video/documentary on the 1,000 year history of the city. The commentary is in multiple languages and the English was very detailed. It's an amazing time capsule. Thank you to the FAI (the National Trust of Italy) and the Campatelli family for gifting it to the FAI.

FAI Italian Heritage Trust Property maintained for educational purposes.
Sep 2018 • Couples
This old tower home was kept within an old family for centuries, and the FAI Italian Heritage Trust Property was fortunate to be able to buy it from the heirs, and maintain it for educational purposes.

A very good place to start
Oct 2018 • Couples
This is a great place to start one's San Gimignano experience for first time visitors (like ourselves) and we were sorry we only visited it at the end of our trip. The audio video gives such an interesting account of the history of the area.
