Standing 60 meters above ground on top of Torre Grossa on a clear day, you will get an amazing view of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Back in the days when patrician families controlled San Gimignano, Torre Grossa was one of 72 tower-houses (some of which...More

The views from the top are incredible. You need to be reasonably able to climb the last ladder and be careful not to bang your head! Just under 10 Euro for a relatively short visit and the country side views are available from elsewhere for...More

The steps curl up around the inside of this tower and as I get a touch of vertigo I was a bit apprehensive about going up but I managed it and it was well worth it. Great views all around.

Not as strenuous on the old knees as some companies and towers in Italy, but the views are every bit as good Florence or Siena, with miles of Tuscan countryside stretched out before you. It's quite simply awe inspiring!

Well worth doing the climb to the top. Some great panoramic views over the countryside. Wear decent shoes and don't overload yourself with unnecessary equipment for the tower.
