The copy of the statue of the mythical she-wolf which nourished the twin brothers Romulus and Remus who became the founders of Rome. The original can be seen in the Musei Capitolini in Rome, and this copy is a bit out of place at this...More

This monument is located at the Piazza dei Miracoli (square), next to the Tower of Pisa. This monument represents the Capitoline Wolf with Romulus and Remus, the symbol of the birth of Rome.

Thus us right next to the leaning tower of Pisa. In comparison it's a tiny non event. Also you can't get anywhere near this statue which is disappointing

One of many Lupa statues sprinkled around Italy. The she wolf, Romulus and Remus sit atop a column in Piazza dei Miracoli. This symbol is more closely associated with the founding of Rome than anything to do with Pisa.

Great place to spend a warm afternoon. You can lounge on the grass and laugh at the tourists taking perspective pictures of themselves holding up the Leaning Tower.

I associate this statue with the city of Rome and the story of Romulus and Remus . There is nothing on site to explain its relevance to Pisa

After taking in all the main attractions that the Piazza dei Miracoli had to offer, we decided to chill out for a while, and stood looking over towards the Lupa Capitolina which is situated in the centre of a well kept cordoned off lawn. Although...More
