Forgotten Stone No More
Feb 2020 • Solo
So, this is basically an old stone that has been left on a random corner in Pisa. It’s in the shape of a pear, which is odd. There are many theories about this stone. You see what TripAdvisor has done to an ordinary rock!

Quick and cool little Easter egg

Really didn't know what it was when we were planning our trip but this rock intrigued us enough to do some research and there isn't much on it. So after about 30 min of surfing the web for information on it we pretty much decided that we had to see it, just out of principle. It's easy to miss, and unfortunately not much to look at. Still cool though that it's been around for so long though.

Ok if you're into this

I just stumbled upon it by accident without knowing what it was and it caught my eye because it was so ... completely out of place. Rather than serving as a public toilet for dogs and people there could be a little effort to make it look good. It s basically just a rock on a street worthy of a treasure hunt but not of a "sight".

Hard to find

The address is actually Via La pera. I had to walk around a bit to find it. It's close to Via San Martino 81.

Don't know why, just had to!

Was in the area, visited the rock, something to do I guess. Nothing exciting but the fact that even the local have no idea why it's there and are scared of moving it, was quite intriguing. Definitely a view if you're in the area.

Not a normal stone, but a very special Etruscan stone.

It's a very typical stone on the corner of a street. There is no sign what it is, how old or what it was used for. But is old. Very old. U can touch it, watch it and be amazed that nobody else then you knows this old etruscan stone in Pisa.
