A nice experience!
Jul 2021
Crossing Ponte di Mezzo, the city of Pisa presents Borgo Stretto and its slow walk between the really narrow space, the period arcades and the 14th and 15th century buildings overlooked by many small shops and a thousand refreshment points. Borgo Stretto is one of the almost obligatory stops in order to get to Piazza dei Miracoli. Very well maintained and cared for. A must visit!

Lovely street
Aug 2020
Lovely street between the station / river and tourist attractions. Restaurants, shops, churches and statues on the street and lots of shady places for when the sun is too hot. Worth a look.

A grand colonnaded thoroughfare
Sep 2019
This main street runs through the centre of old Pisa and is easy to find form the railway station by heading straight ahead! It has colonnades that house grand cafes and modern shops, restaurants and entrances to no doubt grand apartments. This is the place where people shop and relax. Big brand names have colonised the central stretch. It is virtually car free so easy to stroll down.

Lovely syteet
Apr 2019 • Friends
We somehow missed this street when we were heading from the station to the tower - I’m blaming it on us having our heads down cos it was raining heavily! Thankfully we found it on the way back. It’s a lovely street, full of hustle and bustle and nice shops and places to eat. A nice place to stroll especially when the rain stops!!

Borgo Stretto in Pisa, Italy
Apr 2019 • Family
This street is in the center of Pisa. It is narrow and it's sidewalks are under arches. The most famous bakery of Pisa is here along with other nice shops and a couple of bars. On the corner of one of the arches near the bar Settimelli, a plaque says that Galileo Galilei was born in that house. From Borgo Stretto, one side takes to the river Arno, the other takes you to Borgo Largo with other nice historic buildings.

Good walk

Nice place to walk and you have to walk the legnth of the street if you arrive by train and are going to the tower. We stopped for food and had some gelato.

Narrow and crowded
Sep 2018 • Couples
Together with the more elegant and larger Borgo Largo, the street known simply as “Borgo” is the main commercial artery of the city, lined with shops, restaurants and bars. Borgo Stretto is one of the busiest streets of Pisa, narrow and enriched with arcades and buildings mostly built in the 14th and 15th century. It is a great place to grab a quick, light lunch while exploring the city.

On main route to Tower.
Jun 2018 • Couples
This narrow street runs from near the river Arno to about half way to the Tower. It is pedestrianised and lined with shops, many under a series of arches.

A couple of good ice cream shops along this stretch as well as a good cake shop. Also restaurants both on this street and on some of the adjoining side streets.

If you do not want to overeat for lunch
Jul 2018 • Solo
I went back here many days for lunch because it was possible to get a light, delicious sandwich -- in no way subway -- for a moderate cost.- even if you want to sit and enjoy your food, a glass of wine and people watch

Pedestrian street
Jun 2018 • Couples
This supposed to be the main shopping street of the city, with expensive brand shops and with quite normal ones. Cafés, restaurants.
