The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

What an atmosphere. Beautiful manicured grounds and stunning workmanship. I think its really quite wonderful what can be achieved, an absolute marvel. Lying underneath the stars amidst towering masterpieces... theres also a mcdonalds right outside the gates, handy if your pushed for time and don't have the local knowledge of where to eat.

It is definitely a must see, when in Pisa. There is a small charge to go inside and walk up the tower. It is only 7 stories, so not a difficult climb. I have a knee issue but still managed to do the climb, with a few stops along the way. The view from the top is spectacular. It is... More

This is the most beautiful tower ever. Even if you are seeing its pictures and reading its history, you will fell this tower in alive version on different way. It has special spirit…and when you are going up you will really fill this leaning part of the tower. This is lifetime experience.

Very impressive. Out of season you still need to get there early (i.e. before 10) though to avoid queues

Definitely worth the climb to the top of this unique tower! It was just under 300 steps and really wasn't too difficult. Beautiful views once you're up there, and lovely bells too. The tilt is fascinating as you're climbing. Best part of Pisa!

The tower itself is a lot bigger than I thought and the lean made it a bit nauseous to walk up to the top but it's a beautiful building and the views from the top are amazing. The stairway up can get a little claustrophobic when people are coming down and €18 just to go up is a bit pricey... More

This is a very famous tower in Pisa, it looks small from a distant but as you get nearer it is a tall building, gives a little strange feeling standing next to this historical place, took lots of pics., did not go up the tower as it was getting a bit late in the afternoon.
