Wow! What an amazing and delicious experience!

We booked this experience before we left home, and discovered that it was even more wonderful than we had anticipated. We met Giuseppe and 5 other class participants outside of his restaurant in Lucca. We walked through Lucca as a group with stops at local market for fresh ingredients for our meal ( who knew we would be eating zucchini flowers on our salads and loving them!!!), also to a pasticceria for amazing bread. Then we went to his home in a beautiful Palazzo. Everything was ready for our class. Aprons, knives, cutting boards, bowls! Giuseppe shared his vision for the meal over glasses of prosecco, then we were tasked to cut up vegetables and herbs. He explained everything perfectly, allowed us to stir, bread, or whatever needed to be done for our meal. A beautiful table was set for us, including candles, name cards, and fall decorations. Our meal was amazing. We received diplomas, recipe books, and our aprons as souvenirs of the day. But the best souvenir was the memory of cooking with Giuseppe in his lovely home.

If you want a great one day cooking class in Lucca with a great chef in a beautiful setting you must try Guisspe's lovely Extra Virgin cooking class! A small group of eight and you will be Amazed!! You go to the market and then to the beautiful Palazzo to prepare fabulous Tuscan fare with all fresh ingredients. A delightful five hour course and meal with a really fun chef.

Spend the day at Giuseppe & Liz' cooking class in Lucca. Giuseppe is welcoming and friendly and took us to a favourite pasticceria for special bread, to the fruit market for ingredients and to his lovely palazzo for the class. Loosen up with wine, learn the differences in oil quality and have a hands-on preparation & cooking experience without pressure. Liz had beautifully dressed the dining table and we enjoyed a leisurely meal, with "Graduation" certificates presented. A fun day and good value.

An absolute must if you are in Lucca. Giuseppe and Liz are the friendly and accommodating hosts in the beautiful palazzo they call home in Lucca. Fresh ingredients and hands on participation make this cooking class one of the best ways to spend an afternoon. Finish the experience by a lovely and elegant lunch prepared during class. It was a highlight of our trip. Thank you Chef Giuseppe and Liz for the unforgettable experience!

Wonderful!

A fantastic experience from start to finish. Giuseppe met us with a warm smile and I knew we were in for a treat. He took us shopping for ingredients after we discussed what we would prepare. First stop, the best bakery in town, next the produce market and lastly the butcher. He brought us to his lovely home to prepare a meal to remember. We learned some new cooking tips and then sat down to enjoy a wonderful lunch and great conversation. I highly recommend this class. You will not only learn to prepare some Italian classic dishes, but will come away with a wonderful memory.

A Must Do Experience!
Feb 2016
The cooking class we did with chef Giuseppe Mazzocchi was clearly five star! We did this at the beginning of our two week trip to Tuscany. And this as exactly what we needed to do. Giuseppe is a great cooking instructor and told us all about the foods of Tuscany, as well as the best wines and what we should see while traveling. He quickly became our friend and gave us his best advice on everything we needed to know to make our trip wonderful. Starting off your trip to Tuscany with a cooking class at restaurant Il Cuore with Giuseppe should be must for all traveling to Tuscany for he first time--and even for those coming back. And the class is in the historic district of Lucca, so we could easily walk to the restaurant.

Great Day in Tuscany!!
Aug 2015 • Family
This was the highlight of our trip, and we found that both adults AND kids can get a lot out of it. We started with a sampling of local delicacies (and yes, a glass or two of prosecco!), then on to the class ... which was well put together, our instructor Chef Giuseppe spoke perfect english, and we loved hearing about his upbringing in the tuscan countryside where his family lived in an old stone olive mill. Imagine our surprise after a lot of fun and laughter we realised we had created an amazing three course meal! And then we got to eat it ... Mama Mia! Maybe it was the fun, the freshness of the ingredients, the great instructor, the Tuscan sunlight ... but we made an amazing meal! Giuseppe selected a few regional wines to accompany our meal. Afterwards we were rewarded with a beautiful recipe booklet, certificate, and an apron that has a special place in our kitchen at home full of many great memories!!
