What a wonderful town. Going back in time. Walk atop the ancient wall around the entire city to see it. A special view everywhere you look. Great place to spend a few days away from the hectic cities.

Our group of 14 rented bikes from the Tourist Center for 3 hours and took a couple of turns around the wall and also rode down into the city. The wall is a perfect place to take in the city of Lucca. Most of the wall has a wide trail to follow, so on a beautiful March spring day there... More

The top of the medieval wall around the old city of Lucca provides an easy, scenic way to view this beautiful site. Looking out across through the trees to the roof tops provides a very different view. The walk is an easy 4 km .

They say that Lucca walls are romantic but I think that they are not... they are great to have a walk by oneself, to think oneself, have great ideas as walking stimulates your brain, it is a place for observation, there are benches to stop and think and chat. There are places to picnic on the walls as well. There... More

A must-do. An easy 4.5km around - but the views of Lucca and its surrounds make this a wonderful walk

The City of Lucca has transformed what was once a defensive mechanism into a beautiful and sublime asset that benefits residents and visitors alike. Strolling along the wall is one of the most pleasant experiences available in a city full of pleasant experiences.

We were lucky during our walk we have seen an cycling tour, Renaissance Armour display firring old canons, old man playing croquet . It is a good place to start, you can walk around the city and choose where to go.

What’s not to like about Italy? It’s a great destination and worth visiting multiple times over one’s lifetime. The challenge is to seek out interesting locations and experiences beyond the grand cathedrals of Rome, Florence, Siena and Pisa (which can get a little monotonous regardless of their magnificence). Lucca is a great destination if you are looking for a change... More
