This is a cute little baroque church that we could see from the new castle park so we decided to walk to it and check it out. The architecture is very contrasting with the dome being a markedly different style than the lower level construction....More

Took 8R bus from the Livorno train station to the Chiesa Santa Caterina church to see the picturesque dome and the black Madonna. Took the 8N bus back to the train station and then the 1R bus to downtown to take the shuttle bus back...More

In my view the inside is even more beautiful than the duomo in Florenz, the dome is majestic and I just stood there for nearly 30 minutes in awe.

Check the exquisite "black" Madonna and its ritual. St. Vincent has been moved around to make room for Santa Caterina di Siena.

Very pretty on the inside, shame it is not often advertised, I recommend it to go at least once. Nice to see.
