This is a REAL monastry - what else can I add to that? The visitor has to be fortunate enough to get to the place when the monks are "at duty", then it grows much more interesting. Another option is to have a good guide...More

We walked around the monastery. Walking up towards it is very difficult and steep but it is really worth it in the end. The views are phenomenal and the convent is pretty too. Worth a good relaxed walk.

Beautiful view up here at the top of Fiesole, and some nice paintings in the church c. 1500. Also a collection of Chinese objects collected by missionaries.

The walk up to this Monastery is steep, but totally worth it. The view is higher than Piazzale Michelangelo, and you can see so much more. It's best to go at Sunset.

A quiet walk. I went early and had the place to myself. The colours, the crichets, the past being so near... one should go there...

I thought the climb from the town would never end, but it was worth it to find this cool oasis. The museum was full of interesting exhibits, but not especially English-friendly!

This museum contains objects that various Brothers acquired during the missionary work. The Museum is free. It isn't very big but it houses some interesting items. It gives you some insight into what the Brothers would have thought was important or interesting. The gardens and...More

Probably. Be careful if you arrive at noon or during hours of the Divine Office. Last summer the monks were doing their prayer services at noon and evening. The church will be open, just be aware that if they are holding... More
