The area
Neighbourhood: Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

I was walking early one morning in Florence when I came across Torre D'Arte. It was closed but by the small window I could tell I needed to make a return visit during shop hours. Beautiful gloves, scarves, shawls and ties !!! Upon return , i left with three pair of cashmere lines leather gloves with rabbit cuff. Absolutely stunning! I wanted to bring home something special for 3 dear friends. Torre d'Arte had exactly what I was looking for ! I highly recommend. And give yourself time to browse. It is fun and the staff is extraordinarily helpful.

Great shop!

We just happened past this place on our way from the Duomo to Ponte Vecchio, stopped in to look at ties and ended up buying the tie, some scarves and a shawl. (They have beautiful gloves too.) I'm not a snob - buy the cheap knockoffs on the street corners if you like what you see there, no problem (I did some of that too), but when you want something nice, come here. The merchandise is lovely and the proprietors very friendly.

Excellent shop
May 2016 • Family
Our daughter has been in Florence since January. First thing she mentioned when we arrived was the beautiful shop with scarves and leather gloves. We had the good fortune of stopping in and purchased several pair of the leather gloves. Returned a 2nd time to purchase more gloves and scarves as gifts for family back home. The proprietors are friendly and accomdating. The leather glove selection and colors are fabulous. The quality is wonderful. With so many questiona offerings of questionable quality in the markets and shops, this shop is exactly what you hope for when you walk along the streets of Florence.

A welcoming shop.

We had passed this craft shop on numerous occasions. Cheekily we took photos trying to get on the bike outside. The bike had flowers on the back and front and looked lovely. As we had used the bike it seemed right to go inside. So pleased we did the lady in the shop was friendly, willing to help and say what she does with certain items; she takes a print of new artwork and prints it onto clothing. The whole shop had a crafty feel. I did buy a gentle watercolour of the Tuscan hills. The lady wrapped the picture so it was protected for the flight.
Lots of little details like this run through the shop.
