We just completed Chef Pinto's Gelato and Pizza making class, with added benefit of sorbet, cats tongues and a stuffed pizza. It was fun although I wish my dough would have cooperated. I disliked the thought of homemade ice cream type dessert due to chunks of yolk in batches made when I was young, but this gelato was pretty tasty, and the strawberries in the sorbet were luscious. It was a very good class ... and I don't like to cook! (Of course, two of the students have a culinary background - a pastry chef and culinary school graduate who makes wonderful desserts and pastries in addition to other foods.)

We loved shopping the markets and visiting a local cheese shop and then heading to the school to learn to make a soup, 2 kinds of pastas from scratch followed by a dessert. Our kiddos loved the experience as did we! I’d recommend this awesome place to anyone!

Giorgio created an inspirational, private class of tasty vegan Italian recipes. I had a number of dishes I wanted to try and nothing was too much trouble. Using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, we created a seemingly endless variety of culinary delights: fresh eggless pasta, Tuscan bread (crisp on the outside, soft on the inside); Schiacciata (similar to focaccia but obviously better as it's a florentine recipe!); cavolo nero pesto with tagliatelli; potato filled ravioli with a 'fake' ragu; pizza and calzone; Farinata with a vegan lime and ginger mayonnaise (a true creative masterpiece - the zest and zing of the lime and ginger marrying perfectly with the creamy mayo!) and finally a vegan panna cotta with two different toppings - frutti di bosco and cachi (persimmon). I'm not a big fan of desserts but my family are, and even I had to admit that the velvety sweet custard, combined with the tart and delicate fruits, was a decadent treat that would have graced the tables of the best restaurants in town. The course was over two sessions as the starter for the Tuscan bread needed to be made the day before. Highly recommended!

We did the half day pasta making class. We met outside at the market and one of the chefs took us through and purchased the ingredients we would be cooking with. The class was very organized and entertaining. It was very informative and we had a great time learning how to make pasta from scratch. I would highly recommend this class!

We spent a delightful day with Paolo at the Food Studio and learnt a lot about Italian cuisine. We had a fun and informative market shop at the farmers market and then a specialty cheese/meat shop where we learnt about cheeses and what to use in certain pastas. The Food Studio is a lovely space with old world atmosphere and was all prepared for us upon arrival. We went over the menu and were provided instruction on how to prepare the ingredients. We were all instructed on pasta preparation and each made two types of pasta. The culmination of our cooking experience was a lovely 4 course lunch with wine and great conversation with our fellow cooks at the large country table. Definitely highly recommend the Food Studio as a fun and educational way of getting an appreciation for Italian cooking.
