There is nothing more exciting than arriving to a frosted glass door at 1:00 am to give a strange man money while whispering what type of delicacies you'd like to enjoy. They close the door and return within a few minutes with your goods. I first discovered the place while studying in Florence in 2012 and I have traveled back... More

Me and my friend visited last night and as everyone does we knocked on the door and waited. A man from the bakery answered and told us to come inside so we could get the pastries. After getting our pastries the men started being really creepy and began to grope us. It was disgusting and we left right away. Girls... More

My husband and I heard about this place and could not for the life of us find it! Two nights later, we stumbled upon several local teens with huge pastries (ok, we sniffed them out). When we asked where they got them, we were told to whisper, as we were near the secret bakery. We followed the directions to a... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
