Lovely little church. Quiet and atmospheric, though simplistic. At the left wall as you enter there is a basket just under the shrine for Beatrice. Here visitors can plead in writing to ask her to fix their love lives, leaving the letters in a basket...More

The Chiesa di Santa Margherita dei Cerchi is a small quiet Church at Piazza dei Giuoch. An interesting place where Dante's lover is said to be buried, it is worth visiting.

We really wanted to visit this little church, especially as my husband had just read Dantes Inferno, but we went there four times over our four days in Florence and it was sadly never open. There wasn't any opening times, so we went at different...More

This little church has the grave of Beatrice Portinari, the love of Dante's life. The basket in front of it is full of notes of unrequited love. Such a tranquil atmosphere, very dimly lit, with soft classical music playing, and you can just sit and...More

This was a quick stop we made on the way to Dante's house. It's a tiny chapel, supposedly housing the tomb of Beatrice. In retrospect, I wish I had spent more time here and skipped Dante's house.

Dantes' church made recently famous and brought to modern attention in Dan Browns' "Inferno" is a small simple stone church tucked away in a narrow street. If you're a Dan Brown fan and follow Roberts trail through the streets of Florence you'll surely pass by...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
