San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on
Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.

It is totally up to you and your budget but we always recommend having a licensed tour guide inside the historical site as you can learn a lot from the ruins you see. Unfortunately regular tour leaders are not allowed to give any information according to the Italian laws inside the important sites. If you don't want to pay extra for the licensed tour guide, you can always hire an audio guide at the entrance for a small budget.
