You can add this on to the visit to the Dome (Cathedral of Santa Maris del Fiore), which with the Baptistry are all in the same piazza.

The line for the Campanile can be very long, and often in the sun most of the day. If your visitng in summer months, the best time to visit is first thing in the morning when both the wait and the climb are in cooler...More

Your 15 Euro ticket gets you into here, the baptistery, and the museum. If you're in good shape for a climb you can get lovely 360 degree views of the city and get up high to look straight at the beautiful Duomo!

The Duomo is a bustling piazza with lots of stores and restaurants. The cathedral dominates the square with its' imposing presence. It truly is a marvel that should be seen. However, the square gets crowded and if you want to go into the cathedral you...More

An easier and less crowded climb than the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore. There are several landings along the way, and it is not required to go all the way to the top. There is one staircase only to both ascend and descend.

This is worth climbing to the top to see the best views of the duomo, and all of Florence. Take a bottle of water though as it's very tiring and the narrow corridors are very warm. I think you can buy your ticket there after...More

If you could not book the dome ticket, but have an interest in going up and having a view, there is a good alternate option. You can book the ticket for the clock tower which is almost as tall as the dome at 85 odd...More

Me and my wife saw Campanile di Giotto on our last visit to Italy. I didn't get to climb to the top, tickets were sold out for the next two days but just to see it was amazing.

Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

There rarely is much of a line for the campanile (you'll find the line at the Duomo, instead), so most of your time will be spent ascending and descending the stairs and admiring the views. I'd allow about 45 minutes to an... More
