This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

This lookout point / giant carpark offers a great view of Florence. It's quite a rewarding walk once you reach it (perhaps 1 km from Ponte Vecchio, uphill). Go early so you are not surrounded by the tour groups, you can then still enjoy the...More

Take a bus ride up to this statue. The view is amazing- gives you a window to Florence that you don’t get from below.

Grab some walking shoes or a Go Bike and check out the Piazzale with a great view of the city. It's hot (when I was there in July) so bring water and sun gear.

Lovely place to watch the sunset, however can get very busy! Lovely bar at the top of the monument. Or stands selling gelato, beer and snacks.

The best place in Florence, even though you have to climb to get there, the sunset is amazing and it is worth it.

My wife and I walked here from the centre of Florence which took just under an hour. The view from the top is well worth it. You have an excellent view of the entire city and it's free.
