We were in Florence in early August during a punishing heat wave so evening strolls were easier on us. At night, we got to see Via de' Tornabuoni as we had never seen it before: completely empty of people (see our uploaded photo) bathed in...More

It is a nice street. It is a street where you enjoy the walk and you do lots of (window) shopping without spending a single cent, provided you are a wise shopper, of course! Lovely buildings too and not too many "tourist" shops!

Via de' Tournabuoni is now a pedestrian walking street. At the street level you will find stores and artfully showcasing the world's major designers interspersed with historic churches and modern offices. Street musicians set the pace -- perfect for a stroll.

Lovely street with many luxury designer stores. A nice street to just stroll down and do a bit of window shopping. Street eventually takes you onto the Ponte Santa Trinita bridge and over the river to the Oltrarno district.

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by

The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
