Very crowded and it was January, and off season. Had to pay to enter and it was difficult to find where to purchase tickets.

Begin your visit at the Museum early in the morning and you will have the place to yourself. We saw the Pieta up close with no-one around. Museum gives great insight into the construction of the Duomo.

You MUST get a guided tour of this Duomo. The secret balconies, the lower/original church below and the tour guide we had made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Make sure you climb the stairs to the top to look over all of Firenze. It is beyond...More

This is a great place to take a load off for a while and do some serious people watching as there is ever-changing scenery with all the tourist paths meeting around the Duomo. The church, tower, and baptistry should be taken in slowly, as there...More

It’s a beautiful and historical place, good to sit down and just real, enjoy the view of the Duomo and hearing the bells. You can have a coffee and feel the atmosphere. It’s amazing!

We chose to visit Florence over Venice on our trip to Italy.Florence and its beautiful Duomo took our breath away. We went there by the high speed train from Rome and we were sad to leave at the end of the day. Definitely, a must...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

Hello! This is a square, so it is accessible for wheelchairs. About bathrooms for wheelchair users, I am not 100% sure, but probably they exist at the ticket office in the square and also at the museum for the Dome art... More
