fun
Jul 2021
I stopped into Eatily in the food court, enjoyed browsing their specialty items, and bought a couple things, including a blueberry cream and some little jars of banana pepper powder. Also had a good chat with the woman running the store.

Afterward, I sat at a wine counter and had a lovely sipping experienced. I ordered a glass of Brunello and also had a sample on white sangria, just for fun.

A beautiful market experience
Jul 2021
Went their for some food. Many options on the 2nd floor including traditional pizza and pasta options. It’s kinda like an upmarket food hall in a market. Recommend a visit.

Old but modernized market
Jun 2021
Like many 19th cent. markets with fish, meat etc. But air con and bathrooms for the public. Special second floor has stake out beer, wine all types of upscale food stalls to take away or sit and enjoy.

Don't miss this market in Florence!
May 2020
If you are ever in Florence, don't miss this market! Mercato Centrale is not only a fun and colorful place to visit, but also the best place to stop for lunch. Its food stalls provide a wide variety of Italian dishes of the best quality. And if you want to take a cooking class, they have that also at Mercato Centrale.

Not too touristy, delicious food
Jun 2020
We ran in here for dinner when our other plans fell through. I worried this would be too touristy, but it actually turned out to be full of Italians. There were lots of delicious options for dinner and dessert. We ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce and the cannoli with ricotta ice cream, both delicious.

Disappointing
Oct 2020 • Couples
We visited the building to look around the market but only the food hall was open and the rest of it empty due to covid. Not many of the eateries were open so very dissapointing

Lovely tourist trap for tired hungry family
Oct 2020 • Family
Arrived to Florence around 2pm, by the time we checked in etc. most restaurants had already closed their lunch service - the dining floor of the mercato is a decent alternative and nicely casual so the family can chose whatever everyone likes. The pizza was pretty good, so was the wine and antipasti. Certainly a bit overpriced but what can you expect? it's a tourist trap, but I still call it a good one to check out especially if you need a meal at a random time.
