A fantastic place, full of history, brilliant architecture. One of the highlights of our trip. The graves of great people took our breathes. A must see.

Very ornate church/monastery, with a statue of Dante Aleghieri looking down at you on the outside. A very good couple of hours' stroll around. Cloisters, illustrations galore, very famous people buried inside.

This is one of the most beautiful and the historic location of graves of some of the most famous names of 500 years ago. We lined up for its opening thinking we may miss the opportunity to get in otherwise.

Santa Croce is a beautiful church with a gothic marble facade. It houses the tombs of Galileo and Michelangelo. The high alter is spectacular. Many of many chapels are beautiful. I would definitely recommend a stop here.

Tombs of Galileo, Michelangelo, FDAnte, Rossini, Machiavelli, Marconi, and Fermi are confined within this Church. The Chapel is by Brunelleschi, the Fresco by Giotto. This church is well worth a visit. The Piazza surrounding the Church has many good restaurants.
