Was told that this is where the city started...now this is one of the most vibrant part of the city very close to the Cathedral with a lot of options to eat, shop and enjoy the place.Definitely worth a visit

All the luxury restaurants and brands are either at this square or near it. so if you're on a luxury quest, this is the place. it is very beautiful at night when the street lights and carousel light up the arches and the buildings.

The original Old Market, the central market of Old Florence was destroyed in 1895, to be able to build Piazza della Repubblica, as inscribed above the large arch structure on the piazza.. Today it houses many of oldest and the best cafes [priced accordingly], therefore...More

This was my 2nd visit to Florence. The first visit we stayed at Hotel Pendini which is right on the Piazza della Repubblica..Yes, it's touristy, with shops and restaurants, but we enjoyed it anyway. This year was no exception and once again there was a...More

You can't avoid being impressed, when you turn the corner & are presented with this magnificent Roman arch. The atmosphere reminds me of Covent Garden in London, with a great atmosphere, buskers & musicians to entertain.

A couple of restaurants and the carousel is neat. Worth a walk through at least. Also, the hard rock cafe is here and although I advocate not eating in chains when I travel abroad...I did get a cool T Shirt and some pins for a...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
