Love Duets’ Concert: you do not have to be a lover of Italian Opera to enjoy this wonderful evening. It’s set in a small church from 1800’s. You have a piano, soprano & tenor performing Opera’s love song and Italian love songs. The setting and performance is overwhelmingly powerful. You’ll be moved to tears by the emotions. Not to be missed.

My husband and I have 3 young girls (12, 10 and 6) and we wanted to expose them to opera while vacationing in Italy. We felt that sitting through a full length opera in Italian might be too much at their ages. We decided on an opera performance of love songs at St. Marks as an alternative. It was fantastic!... We went as a family with two children ages 10 an 13. What a fantastic experience. Very well priced, worthy every penny, and for a good cause (all funds collected are fully allocated to a charity in India to help orphan children). Franz does s tremendous job explained the story behind each aria sang by professional opera singers. In addition,... More

My husband and I paid 25 euros each for a medley of love arias. In San Francisco a night at the opera is almost 8 times the cost to see something from the front row. There are no set designs or chorus but the 3 performers had heart and experience. The performers were wonderful and the piano player had a... More

Held in the cosy St. Mark's Church. The venue was small but charming. The cast was wonderful and the show captivating. Do not expect a full scale production since it is mostly done for charity. Would recommend for a lovely way to pass an evening in Florence

Who doesn't want to see opera in Italy? Unfortunately, aside from special music festivals/events, the options for opera in Florence are rather limited. That's what makes St. Mark's the best place to see opera in Florence. As other reviewers have noted, you are not getting a full stage or a full opera or wonderful costumes. You're getting good-but-not-great singers, low-budget... More

We did not attend the opera. However, my wife and I renewed our marriage vows for our 30th wedding anniversary at St. Marks. Father William was a wonderful facilitator. The church is beautiful and has quite a history.

Absolutely wonderful intimate atmosphere in an old church. The singing was incredible and I am now an opera convert. Couldn't fault anything about the experience - it was just magical.

A great evening of opera in an intimate setting. The singers had pipes and gave a moving performance.

We attended an operatic arias and duets concert, not a full opera experience but a selection of well-known pieces that were sung with gusto! This is a wonderful concert given by 2 singers accompanied by piano, with the charming St. Mark's Church. Well worth the price of admission; the setting is intimate, the acoustics are very good, and the talent... More

When you travel a lot you are looking for something new, for some special experience. This is exactly something new. Performance in such an unusual atmosphere in Church, wonderful acoustics, singers which are close to you, showman with brilliant sense of humor… It is definitely worth of visit.

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
