Walkabout really knows how to please and educate folks. We had a wonderful experience walking to the market with Olivia. She is a delight with knowledge about Florence and pointed out many items we would have overlooked. Shopping in the Central Market is not to be missed and an experience all of it's own. Then out to the beautiful countryside... More

Francesco was the best guide. I didn't pass the driving test and rode with my husband. However 3/4 of the way I got super anxious with the aggressive drivers so I asked if I could ride with him. He didn't hesitate to let me sit with him in this awesome vintage Fiat. The ride, lunch and views were absolutely fantastic!... More

With only 2.5 days in Florence at our disposal, and so much to see, at first I questioned whether a daylong cooking class was a sensible thing to do. Having experienced the farmhouse tour and class now, I am SO GLAD we gave it a chance. Our tour guide, Lavinia, was both amiable and knowledgable on topics Italian and otherwise... More

There are thousands of great reviews of this trip here, so the consistency must be amazing. Because we had just one full day in the area, we researched looking for the best way to spend it and we couldn't have possibly selected a better way to do so. There is absolutely no way someone could have done what we did... More

I did the morning Vespa tour with Angel of Walkabout Florence and I can't say enough about how amazing the experience was! First off, Angel was an excellent guide and a patient Vespa instructor. I came to the tour without any motorbike experience and he patiently went over the mechanism of action and allowed me to practice several times before... More

Took the Walkabout hiking tour of Cinque Terre, and had a fabulous time. As a single female traveler, I was a bit hesitant to go on a hike on my own but wanted to visit Cinque Terre, so this Walkabout tour was the perfect option. The organization of the day was fantastic, and the tour guides were extremely knowledgeable. Our... More

We truly enjoyed the Walkabout Best of Tuscany Tour. Sandra was the perfect tour guide. Her knowledge of the sites, sparkling personality and her great sense of humor were very much appreciated, I would highly recommend Sandra for any trip! We truly enjoyed the selection of sites for the tour: Siena is great little city with so much history, the... More

Absolutely love this company and their tours! I did both the cooking class and best of Tuscany tour while I was visiting Florence and had such an amazing time. The cooking class starts off as a small tour around Florence to the Central Market to gather ingredients. The home where the cooking class is held is gorgeous with a breathtaking... More

We booked the trip with Walkabout Florence and they provided the perfect tour of the cinque terre. What i liked about the tour is we got to see all the towns without it feeling rushed and it included a hike between two of the towns. The tour guide Francesco was very knowledgeable, funny , and a decent guy I would... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
