The church is a well known attraction in Florence. It’s also resting place for Boticelli. There is a painting of the ‘last supper’ which inspired Leonardo to paint his own. It’s a quiet place to walk around or sit and ponder.

The church was closed on May 1st; we had been very fortunate to visit it several years ago, but at that time we had not seen Ghirlandaio’s masterpiece, “The Last Supper”. Well, this time we got lucky: the Convent refectory, where the beautiful fresco is,...More

Forget the inside of the Duomo....Ognissanti is incredible. FILLLED with art and history. You will be humbled. Admission is free (unbelievable). Bottlicelli is buried here. Across from the church you have beautiful views of Florence and it is a short walk to Ponte Vecchio.

This was the parish church of the Vespucci family, and Amerigo Vespucci is shown in one of Ghirlandaio's frescoes, Madonna della Misericordia. Botticelli's tomb is here, too. It also has a nice cloister, which we missed somehow.

This is not on the priority list of the Florence visitors. But the art works what you find there are from the best masters of Italy, including Giotto, Ghirlandaio, the tomb of Boticelli all are remarkable.

The church was located right across the piazza from our hotel. We were able to visit it while it was still open and it was very beautiful. It is filled with beautiful religious art work.

stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It
is impossible not to admire the the square, housing
