This little-visited church was one of Florence's most important churches during the Renaissance. Botticelli is buried here, along with his muse, Simonetta Vespucci. Don't miss the exquisite Domenico Ghirlandaio "Last Supper," the very one Leonardo da Vinci admired before painting his.

This was the parish church of the Vespucci family, and Amerigo Vespucci is shown in one of Ghirlandaio's frescoes, Madonna della Misericordia. Botticelli's tomb is here, too. It also has a nice cloister, which we missed somehow.

This is not on the priority list of the Florence visitors. But the art works what you find there are from the best masters of Italy, including Giotto, Ghirlandaio, the tomb of Boticelli all are remarkable.

The church was located right across the piazza from our hotel. We were able to visit it while it was still open and it was very beautiful. It is filled with beautiful religious art work.

We were on our way to see the “Reversed Balcony” when we saw the Franciscan church of San Salvatore di Ognissanti, which was open. In Italy, no matter where you are, if you see a church go in it - you will be amazed at...More

With so many incredible sights in Florence, this church will usually not be on a first visit list, but make a place for it if you can. There are some wow pieces here including a Crucifix with quite a story. Neglected for centuries, it was...More

Slightly off the beaten tourist track and all the better for it. Unusual for Florence in that it is Baroque in style. A marvellous Giotto crucifix, Botticellis and Ghirlandios and yet another reviewer said that there were no artworks. Was that during the restoration?

I did not realize that this is the burial place of Amerigo Vespucci, Simonetta Vespucci & Sandro Botticelli. The church has paintings by Ghirlandaio, Botticelli and a crucifix by Giotto. Be sure to visit the cloisters to see The Last Supper by Ghirlandaio.
