This unique Florentine piazza is the center of the artisan quarter. Dominated by the last masterpiece of Brunelleschi, the Basilica of Santo Spirito, the square is home to little local markets and antique fairs.

Staying just round the corner from this lovely Piazza, we ended up sitting for an hour or two just about every night of our holiday. At one end is the church of Santo Spirito, beautifully lit to show off it's imposing dominance of the Piazza....More

Contrary to some previous reviews, I didn´t get to see the farmers market or the antique fair, and even failed to find any bohemian characters, although I did sight a tour group taking in the sights. It´s a large square with a fountain in the...More

Santo Spirito is less touristic, has some very cute restaurants to grab lunch or dinner. It also has a market. A must visit when you go to Florence and want to escape the busy touristic areas.

I was there on a Sunday. Looked like a marketplace being held in the square. Not many people and fewer tourists there, unlike some of the other larger squares in the city.

There are many attractive points that Piazza Santo Spirito has if you compare it with other squares in Firenze. First of all it is on the opposite side of historic center and hidden between the buildings so there are less crowds. It also attracts young...More

A bit more laid back compared to some of the other piazza locations. Very nice cafes and a pretty fountain. Wonderful place to sit on the steps of the church and enjoy some afternoon sun.

Santo Spirito is a fantastically happening place to sit on the sidewalk, drink a cocktail, and watch summer unfold in the center of Florence!

Santo Spirito / San Frediano
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great
company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo
Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour.
Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the
staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and
they cannot help but stare at the architectural
masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello
Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria

Santa Spirito is not far from the main areas. At Santa Spirito you can find a good mix of locals and tourists. There are great restaurants over there. On certain days there is also a market. We loved the atmosphere there.
