Jun 2021
Beautyfull rather small chuch with a calm atmosphere.
Just outside the church there is a beautifull vieuwpoint and only 150 meters to the city of Cortona you can find Cortona bistrot , a very good and " value for money" restaurant

Small, sweet church
Sep 2019
Near to Piazza Girabaldi, small sweet church. Nothing outstanding to speak of. Very quick visit. I would say very typical of the small churches in Italy.

Cool church in Cortona
Jun 2019 • Family
Chiesa de San Domenico is a very cool, old church in Cortona. It is very beautiful, peaceful and reverent inside. I highly recommend a quick step inside for a look around and a prayer!

Stumbled on this site from the 13hundreds, lots of history, enjoyable to explore on our city walk and reading up on it's history.

Worth a Visit
Sep 2018
This church is very unassuming from the outside but when you enter there is a beautiful tryptic and frescoes inside. Just nearby keep your eye out for a small sculpture Leonardo style.

Exquisite church with a welcoming ambiance
Sep 2018 • Couples
Beautiful church with a very calm and tranquil ambiance yards from the many places Cortona offers. Nice place to spend an hour reflecting and soaking up the history, frescos and paintings. Wandering around its inside take a look behind the main alter, looks like a small chapter house.
We lit candles for our parents long passed.
Just outside the church is a long park and shaded walk alongside the hill with children’s park, sushi restaurant and fantastic views.

Small but Worth Visiting
Sep 2018 • Couples
This is a relatively small church near the entrance to the town park on the quiet side of town. Plain on the outside, but nice art work and artifacts inside. Small, peaceful, you do not need a lot of time to see it.

The first time to see our Lady of Sorrows!
Jul 2018 • Couples
This church is in the opposite direction taken by most visitors but should not be overlooked. The interior was dark but at the rear of the Church is a box where if you insert a euro coin you get 10 minutes of illumination. They have the body of a capuchin brother at the altar, a beautiful trytypch altarpiece and several large religious paintings. For me the high point was the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows illuminated , her body pierced with seven swords wearing a crown. As a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows in Kansas City it was enthralling to see that statue! Well worth your time.

Overlooked small local church
Sep 2016 • Friends
This church is located about 150 meters opposite direction from escalators, if you are walking into deeper Cortona. Most of the people miss this simple nice church. If I understood correctly it was built 15th century and finalised 1557.
From outside you can't see, as a surprise, it has a wooden ceiling and roof. Outside is a Leonardo da Vinci statue.
