This is a lovely small museum. Great choice to spend some time away from the crowds in quiet reflection and enjoyment of beautiful art.

Do not miss this museum while in Cortona, I nearly did but glad I noticed it on my last day. The work of art is amazing Just looking at the Annunciation of Cortona is worth the entrance fee.

The museum is housed in what was the Church of Gesu. Most of the works come from that church and others from the major churches in Cortona and the area. Well known artists of the 15th to 17th century, well organized and notated.

Really top teer small museum, a must if you visit Cortona. Lorenzetti, Angelico, Vasari,& favorite son Signorelli. Masterpieces abound...laid out beautifully in what was the old church... if you like art of these periods, you'll love the Museo Diocesano. We did.

This is a little gem on the back side of the city. The entry is very unassuming but don't let that stop you. The entry fee is €5 and worth it. This is not a handicap accessible site. There are several flights of stairs. It...More

Not a large museum but it includes some very important and quite beautiful works of art by Beato Angelico, Luca Signorelli, and some exceptionally rare 13th-century paintings, including one of the earliest images of Santa Margherita from Cortona.

Lots of interesting exhibits. The huge globe was really fascinating. Loved this beautiful stone cross, although carvings on the other side were odd......

The Diocesan Museum will not do you in. There is plenty but not too much! There is a fantastic period chapel in the lower part and the spectacular Fra Angelico Annunciation on the main floor amongst other treasures. A no-brainer.
