Best museum in Cortona
Oct 2019
The two Fra Angelica,s here are wonderful and the best part of our visit was that we had them all to ourselves. That is a rare event in an Italian museum. There are several other fine pieces in the museum and the presentation is very good. Well worth a visit.

Great small museum, terrible outdated no photographs policy!
Sep 2019
This small museum has some stunning works (like the Fra Angelico), beautifully presented in historic rooms. I would have given this museum 5 out of 5 except for their no photograph policy. This is sometimes because they want you to buy the catalogue or postcards, but the paintings I wanted details of were not included in any publication nor available on the museum website. In my experience of visiting the biggest and greatest art collections of the world, it seems only some of the smaller ones who have a no photograph policy.

When visitors have traveled several thousands of miles to see great paintings and then are not allow to take photographs feels to me pretty mean and out dated.

But this museum it is worth visiting as long as you don't want to remember what you saw in a few months time!

OUTSTANDING

So many significant paintings in this smallish museum across from the duomo on a side street. Great views from the end of the street by it over the wall. Signorelli is well represented here.

This tiny museum on the Western edge of the old town is a must see. Do not be put off by the name it is NOT full of liturgical vestments and chalices. The paintings are superb.

Nicely laid out Museum
Oct 2018 • Couples
We enjoyed this small museum In Cortona with seven exhibition halls with many paintings of the Annunciation! There was no elevator for us so had to use stairs! The lower level is embellished with Cardboard representation of the cross. The museum is only partially assessable to disabled persons?

Annunciation
Sep 2018 • Friends
Although this time museum is packed with great art, it is not o be missed for its Annunciation by Beato Angelico. How this out-of-the-way museum came to have such a great collection is astounding. And, no crowds, and cheap.
