We were on a Seabourne cruise and had not intended to go ashore but standing on deck looking up to the town on high after the ship anchored changed our minds. We went ashore in a boat, a shuttle bus was waiting for us and...More

Anyone looking to tour Taormina should start their journey thru this main street. It cuts straight thru the town and is the best way to get your bearings of Taormina. Filled w/ restaurants, cafes, shops - venture down the small alleyways to right (toward ocean)...More

My daughter and granddaughter and I happened to find this beautiful street while we were looking for a particular ceramic shop. There were many unique shops and the scenery looking down towards the sea was breathtaking.

Beautiful main drag through the heart of Taormina, with all the bars and restaurants, and lovely piazzas. The place for the 'Passagiata'. My Wife and ould'nt get enough of it.

The central street of Taormina connects Porta Messina and Porta Catania. It is lined by tourist shops located in the ancient buildings, almost always overcrowded by tourists, and intersected by numerous alleys and interesting small streets.

With so many nice little shops, eateries and lovely narrow side streets the Corso Umberto is a wonderful place to take a gentle stroll. Some were so narrow you have to almost turn sideways to make it through. Very charming.

Enjoyed walking down the corso, attractive window shopping, nice places to have a drink or eat. All a bit "over the top" glam touristy.

A mix of very nice shops, souvenirs and gelato. Very busy filled with tourists and bus loads of them! Most of he restaurants are here or off on a side street so one really can't avoid it.

As it is a very busy commercial centre, shops etc, I can see no reason that there will be a lull in activity. In other words yes the shops and restaurants will be open.
