Walking the length of the Corso Umberto is like being on a Hollywood set. It's just gorgeous. The architecture is graceful, the stores are beautiful (and expensive) and the ambience is festive. It is perfect!

If you are visiting Sicily and aiming to see Mount Etna the right place to stay is Taormina... Location, atmosphere and view of Etna is incredible... Etna by car is only 45 minutes and it is always in the horizon day and night...

And yes one could potentially do a lot of damage to the good old credit card by the looks of things. There is a nice selection of local craft / art / delicatessen shops to visit and needless to say a few of the luxury brands are also present.

This is the major street of Taormina and thus can be crowded with tourists and tourist shops. Lots of ice cream, cafes, restaurants and stuff to buy. Some very charming squares and good views.

Great place to so some 'people watching'. Very well kept walk way with beautiful shops. It is so nice to see the locals on their evening passeggiata and stop for a gelato or a drink.

The Corso Umberto is a long street full of beautiful buildings and the flashiest shopping street on the island full of fashion and tourist shops together with many restaurants along both sides. It is interesting to divert off the main street into the winding side alleys to get a real feel of this towns unique location high up on the... More

Corso Umberto is without a doubt the most important and crowd road in Taormina. With the magnificent palaces that line it, full of history and their land occupied floor without interruption by restaurants, boutiques, craft shops and souvenirs, this city street is the symbol of Taormina, a place impossible to avoid for visitors and tourists, magnet for those who want... Is this a beautiful long street to walk around? Yes. Are there tons of shops & restaurants to occupy you? Yes. Are they expensive? YES. Don't plan on souvenir shopping here (unless your budget is quite large). If you enjoy window shopping and people watching, this street can't be beat.

This is an interesting place to walk around but unless you have a shed load of money you won't be buying much. In my opinion most stuff was over priced and most of the clothing was pretty hideous anyway.

This long street is full of history, nice buildings, several shops, cafes and restaurants. We visited Taormina in the afternoon and there were not so many tourists. The view was amazing so were the shops for the ladies... :-)
