Before visiting Taormina a colleague told me the light in Sicily had to be seen. I wasn't sure how it could be any different than the rest of the world until I visited The Greek Theatre in Taormina at dusk. What a beautiful, magical place....More

G7 completely ruining any visit Taormina - and that is before they have arrived. It is worth a visit for the setting but there are other places to see with Greek remains. Also spoiled by school visits as teachers do not exert any discipline over...More

I would absolutely recommend a tour of the theater when visiting Taormina. I'm sure it is not as spectacular as some of the ruins in other regions but it is definitely worth seeing the view is spectacular and it is an opportunity to see an...More

Wonderful greek/Roman theatre with unforgettable views over taormina, mount Etna and the sea. Worth visiting early morning or early evening (last entry 7pm).

As part of our stay and walk through the town, we visited the Greek Theatre. It had spectacular views of the surrounding area. I would recommend seeing it on your own and not through a tour.

A must do in Taormina, the theatre has been carefully maintained. Quite expensive though, 10€ then a guide book on top of that. Great views from up there as well. Would like to have gone to a show there but nothing on while we were...More

Wonderful atmosphere walking round and over this magnificent site. I fondly imagined myself as an ancient Greek here to enjoy a performance.

At one level it is really good news that a open air theatre is still in use over a thousand years later. The sad part is that the permanent lighting staging gets in the way of imagining what it originally was like. Still impressive though.

I would like to buy concert tickets for Kasabian in July. I am see in the uk and will be in Taormina about 3 days before the event. Would it be best for me to collect tickets at the box office or have them posted to the uk. My concern is that if I have them posted they may arrive late once I have left for Italy. But my other worry is arranging to collect and then there is a problem when I arrive! Any advice is welcome. Thanks

I think you should buy them as early as possible as Taormina is quite busy in July. Enjoy.
