The main basin of the port, with many nice restaurants around, is full of yachts etc. However, they really have let the surrounding parts of the port go to seed. There's an opportunity here to make this a really nice area.

This area is near a lot of great "street" food restaurants and Palazzo Chiaramonte and Piazza Spirito Sancto. It is lovely to walk around and feels miles from Palermo center although being literally only a few steps.

A lot of boats and the sea, but not comparable to other harbours we have seen in Italy. A romantic athmosphere is not found at the place. You ll find some expensive bars at the end, where we had the worst Apperol Spriz ever.

Palermo is I think the only seaside city I've visited that hasn't its seaside promenade to walk, dine and have some cool time by the sea. This, La Cala is a bad try for that. Its a small bay with a marina and a very...More

This is a great place to visit in the evening with the port having some orangey lighting making a pretty spooky cool affect. I would take caution visiting at night though as there were some shady guys hanging around when I went

Our cruise ship was berthed at the port for the day and so we spent the day wandering around Palermo. There are parts of Palermo, particularly, adjacent to the port, which are really quite seedy. As we were walking back to our ship along the...More
