The main basin of the port, with many nice restaurants around, is full of yachts etc. However, they really have let the surrounding parts of the port go to seed. There's an opportunity here to make this a really nice area.
This area is near a lot of great "street" food restaurants and Palazzo Chiaramonte and Piazza Spirito Sancto. It is lovely to walk around and feels miles from Palermo center although being literally only a few steps.

A lot of boats and the sea, but not comparable to other harbours we have seen in Italy. A romantic athmosphere is not found at the place. You ll find some expensive bars at the end, where we had the worst Apperol Spriz ever.
Palermo is I think the only seaside city I've visited that hasn't its seaside promenade to walk, dine and have some cool time by the sea.
