Striking monument by the cruise terminal. A reminder of past times. A drive by really as it's in the middle of a roundabout.

This two columns made by red marble wants commemorate the most terrible murder made by mafia. The judge Giovanni Falcone and his security team was killed by a bomb blast placed below the highway. This blast was the non returning point of the mafia escalation....More

This gets five points simply for being here. Judges Falcone and Borsellino (after whom the airport is now named) were blown up and killed by the mafia on this stretch of the autostrada. So as you drive between airport and city, you will go through...More

It was really hard to find it because of the connection of the highway and and other highway in a round point. Badly indicated. When we were there, the park close to the monument was under maintenance. Although, it was an emotional moment to be...More

Situated on the road from the airport to Palermo, this monument pays tribute to those brave men who fought and died to try eradicate this pestilence from Sicily. It's also a mark of shame on those who allowed it to happen

A monument to commenerate a murdered judge along the highway to Agrigento. Nothing special and not worth a special visit

Not much to say other than this is a sign that corrupt and ruthless men can be fought by people of good intentions and intelligence who are prepared to put their lives on the line for justice and fairness for all.

Not much to really see. There is an area to pull over and get out of your vehicle to read the captions. Not much to see, more to reflex on the dark history of Sicily, especially Palermo.

Rent the movie (the english one with Chazz Palmenteri http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0151734/) to really understand what Falcone and Borsalino faced dealing with the Cosa Nostra and gave their lives for. Given the stapler scene you will understand the meaning of Omertà!!!!
