This is a small church that only allows a few people in at a time. It has its charm and is a nice complement to the two other churches in the square.

UNESCO world heritage site characterized by the typical Norman-Arab-Byzantine architecture that spread in Palermo. The mosaics are outstanding. I highly recommend a visit!

This should be at the top of anyone's list of sites that are essential to see. Impressive mosaics above all. Pay attention to the division of the building between the Medieval frescoes and later mosaics. You can see the difference in periods right down to the floor tiles.
Very impressive site.

a must to visit in Palermo. Such a nice and exotic place in the center of the city and very close to the big fountain . don.t miss the visit to both churches.

The mosaics are older than at Capella Palatina. Not quite as stunning an experience, but very worthwhile.

This is without question one of the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever seen. The whole of the interior tells the most wonderful stories and is quite breathtaking.
Make sure you put this on your Sicily bucket list.

This UNESCO-listed church is quite small but boasts beautiful Byzantine-style mosaics. We were only allowed to see it from the roped-off area in the back, but it was still worth it.

Martorana church has got one of the most beautiful terrace on Palermo city and Dock I 've never enjoyed.
Church itself is a little treasure : indoor and outdoor. Little steeps lead you easily to the roof to admire the scenario.
Down there a little, exquisite tipical Italian courte garden with a fountain, welcome you untill the Martorana pasticceria. So you must take a piece of Martorana fruit or a Sicilian Cannolo! Superb location.
