It is a very beautiful convent, it has elements of an Arabic hospital and a Byzantine katholikon. Unfortunately the entrance fee of 6 € is far too high and in no way justified. Some locals declared it as an archeological museum, which is appalling, since they have not the clue, what this monument is. Please do your homework and ask... More

A Benedictine monastery built by Muslim Arab builders - perhaps we could learn from that in our own century! Peaceful gardens with the trees laden with fruit when we visited. It's a calm oasis in the city, well worth spending time just sitting and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Staff were friendly and we met a lovely man, Guiseppe, whose last... More

This is and hidden gem of the city. It doesn't seem to be a great attraction to tourists, but it is worth the visit for sure. Beautiful architecture and garden that is perfect for a small romantic walk.

There is admission to be paid and not the lowest. But we found this place to be so charming. Church itself is very simple, but architectural combinations make it very special, somehow mystical. And the surrounding garden with oranges, grapes, limes and whatnot was so nice for a slow stroll. With its greenery it's an oasis for a break, spot... More

The complex of this church is worth while visiting. It s more than a church. It s also a garden. The church itself is very charming. For me a highlight of Palermo

Compared to the (wonderfully) over the top churches in the city, this is plain by comparison, but situated in a beautiful square and surrounded by beautiful architecture.

Don't miss this ruined monastery and the associated beautiful walled gardens. Just the thing for a contemplative sit and think as time out from a busy walk around the other Palermo sites.

Very close to the Palazzo dei Normanni, it is a very quite, suggestive location. There is not much to see, but it is worth a walk in the gardens, looking at the buildings or sitting for a while in the peaceful atmosphere. The ticket is 6 euro. It is not a scam, as someone as suggested: you can find the... More
