A lot of things costs an entrance fee in Palermo. This fountain is free, it is beautiful and you can walk on it. There is a bit of interesting history connected with it that you should take the time to read up on.

Less much frequented as the Trevi fountain in Roma but as beautiful while completely different. Located in a beautiful square.

You’ve got to see this but really need an experienced guide or very good guidebook. Recommend Jackie Alio who painted a wonderful picture of the history.

Just a short walk from the Quattro Canti, the centre of the old city, this fountain is gorgeous. It's better first thing in the morning - no people but the gates to let you inside are closed - but it's lovely at any time.

An unexpected star in this corner of Palermo. The fountain is vast and has some amazing figures spouting water. It is a real suntrap and a great place to people watch. Spotlessly clean and well presented.

Fontana della Vergogna is located in the Piazza Pretoria. When we were there the fountain did not work due to people working around the fountain. I think it would've been an awesome sight to see if it was working. If you like fountains it will...More
