We came across this church on our walk around Messina as we were going back to the cruise ship. Very interesting architecture and quite lovely. The interior is simple and beautiful. One thing that caught my eye was a restoration of a painting by the...More

An unscheduled stop on the QM2, no one told the locals - everywhere was shut until the word of mouth got around, by which time we were heading back to the ship!

What a beautiful place, Quetta and reflective cool and calming. Just beautiful taken a few minutes to forget the modern pace of life and take in the calming atmosphere.

This church is small and leave a strong impression of sobriety both at the outside and inside. It is not a crowded church. Nearby is a beautiful cafe and the monument of Juan de Austria, winner of Lepanto.

This very old church is built at the previous street level, the one that was before the earthquake. It is 3m below the current street level. Messina is literally built upon the ruins of the previous buildings. There was no cleanup of the rubble.

Probably the oldest church in Messina, very interesting from the outside with arabic influences (there were also Arab inscriptions decorating the door's frames), simple interior.
