The service was cancelled with no prior notice, without any explanation, or any idea when you might resume the service - there was 50 of us stranded on the island. Very unhelpful, and frankly, rude, customer service. It didn't matter if you were english, french or italian speaking, your staff would just say "impossible" or "no boats" to everything, without... We took this hydrofoil from Milazzo to Stromboli and back. The non-stop to Stromboli was very early (6am) probably due to it being shoulder season. The next ferry was not a high speed boat and would have taken several hours versus one and a half hours. The ride was comfortable and on-time on the way out. The return trip was... More

Our boat from Tropea to Panarea was canceled due to storms and rough seas. So we took the train to Villa San Giovanni and the ferry across the Messina Strait. Arriving in Messina, the Ustica ticket office was right where we disembarked. The staff informed us that unfortunately no boats were likely to run from Messina to Panarea which disappointed... More

Very poor organization, extremely incompetent and rude. We booked the expensive fast ferry from messina to the island of Salina. The ship of course left 45 minutes late and instead of going directly to salina as planned we left for Reggio Calabria. Once there we went all the way back to Messina and surprise surprise, the ship broke down. We.... More

The cruisèr is fast and well organized . The problem arises on peak holiday periods or on winter when the high seas isolate the island community and vice versa.

We travelled as a group of 5 adults to the Aeolian islands. We used Ustica ferries to travel from Messina to Vulcano, then Vulcano to Stromboli and finally Stromboli back to Messina. All ferries were reasonably punctual; loading and unloading was efficient and the ferries were comfortable enough - bearing in mind that the gain in speed (65 kmh according... More

Our experience with Ustica Lines from Milazzo to Lipari was good. The crew efficiently loaded luggage and passengers and ensured that everyone had a seat. The hydrofoil left on time and the ride was a smooth as it could be. The crew handed out sick bags when the journey got rough. The young people on the journey enjoyed the heaving... More

The day we meant to sail Ustica Lines was on strike and all that was shown in the office was a note saying tickets are valid with Siremar. We tried to exchange our tickets but the Siremar agent just shouted at us and said wait for the Ustica ticket office to open which was not going to happen as they... More

I had a pretty bad experience with these guys. I was just surprised at how inefficient the whole experience was! I had to get from Salina to Milazzo to get a connection to Catania aiport at 12.30pm. I got a boat that allowed me to get into Milazzo with 45 minutes to spare before my Connection. However!!!! In Salina -... More
