Very simple church not much to look at here nothing grand to it at all however it’s worth the 3 euros to climb the stairs and get great views over Catania one of the only places I think you can do.

One of the largest churches I have ever seen. The space is gorgeous and quiet. There is meridian on the floor. Entrance is free; it is possible to ascend the observation spot, which is charged.

This is simply a stunning church which is part of the monastery of the Benedictines and it's just stunning, really huge and very well preserved. A must-visit attraction.

The unfinished Chiesa on Piazza Dante is enormous - large enough to be a Duomo. It is very clinical inside with only some side chapels with large paintings. The church contains the largest sun dial across the floor and there are explanations in Italian on...More
