If you can read Italian it might be informative and worth a visit (as long as you don't need to use the restrooms), otherwise I'd skip it. We arrived during opening hours but the sign on the door said 'closed'. After a while someone came...More

A short walk from the centre this is well put together history of the allied landings in 1943. It’s cheap to enter- 4 euros a person and offers a good mix of the history of war from the perspective of both civilians and soldiers- at...More

Tickets for the museum are very cheap and it's really worth it. A short walking distance from the city centre and 5 minutes from the train station, the premises also host the Cinema museum (another recommended visit). Very well set up, the bomb shelter experience...More

Don’t be put off by the museum’s “latest” Facebook post being a summary of its 2016 (yes 2016) opening hours or the rather drab exterior and reception area. This is a terrific museum to visit for anyone interested in World War II in general, the...More

This was an amazing museum that I don't think many people take advantage of. The tour of the Museum starts with a short film about the events leading up to the Allied Landing. The next part of the museum is a recreation of a street...More

We spent a very enjoyable two hours at this museum. The staff were friendly and helpful. We watched a film about the lead up to The Allied invasion of Sicily and experienced an air raid in a shelter in Catania . The following exhibits were...More

A great museum. One first sees a short film about the events of the mid 1930s to 1942, for some background (if really needed) on the Allied invasion of Sicily. We then see and walk through a reconstructed town square in a typical Sicilian village...More

The day we visited the museum, the bulk of the staff were on strike in solidarity due to salary issues for the rest of the staff. Consequently, I'm not sure we had the entire experience. Having said that, this starts off as an intense experience....More

It's a very short distance from the main train station, which is obviously well connected to everything, so you can easily get to it from pretty much all over.
