Beautiful views all the way up to the mountain, very different area from the rest of the island, with beautiful flora and breathtaking Moon-like landscape. The walk up is not as difficult as expected, available for families with young children and older people. Very enjoyable tour.

Mount Etna is amazing for sightseeing and it is extraordinary. We went to Etna from Catania, passing through the different villages nearby. The road is tiny to get there and there are sharp turns which can make you feel nauseous at some point. Once we got there, we were informed that there are no cable cars running as the winds... More

You really have to go all the way. Ask before if you can visit the main crater. The prices are really good.

We drove from Randazzo and then hiked to the top with the best guide ever Marco. We helped us climb safely and discussed a lot of the history and we had a great day. Wear climbing shoes as the trails are slippery at times. I still have Etna sand in my shoes

We took part in a small trek in a jeep, just one other couple, that met us in the main square in Catania. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We stopped on the way to explore a lava tube. Once at the cafe parking lot we began our hike up to and around one of the cinder cones that... More

We took the touristic bus from Catania Duomo square, for 35 EUR. In this money, we had a trip that started 30 minutes later than announced, an open bus not so appropriate for the end of November and the ride to the 2000 m parking and rest area of Etna. If you stay there, you can visit some craters and... More

From a distance, Mt Etna looks like a beautiful mountain peeking up in the background. The road to the top of Mount Etna is a long, yet winding road that is very scenic in nature. You pass by many trees, plants, old abandoned homes and black lava rock. The higher up you go, the less green you will see and... More

You can and we did drive up to the Etna Cable car station at Refugio Sapenza (Tourist shops and cafes up here) and were surprised at the good quality road up the mountain. .Quite twisty but surpisingly wide.Good all round views from the raod which is fringed by lots of black lava. At the Cable car station you can go... More

Half Day Morning tour gets you a guide, a jeep, and up the mountain into nature. Just some things to be aware of: 1. The English speaking guide's English needs improvement. The guy I had was an Italian guy educated in volcanology and geology (plus of course!) but I couldn't understand much of what he was talking about even though... More
