The views on the mountain are spectacular. The history of the mountain is that it has s very spiritual attachment to the people of Nouri. The most famous literary Sardinia, Grazia Deledda, wrote extensively of the spiritual nature of the place and I can see where she is coming from. It is quite a haul in the car but the... More

Amazing place with fabulous views. Redentore statue is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place to visit - especially at sunset. If you are sensitive, you will love this place! There is a very strong attractive power! You can either go by car to the summit of Monte Ortobene, or you can go up on foot. The path leads through... More

Views are spectacular and there is a park for children to enjoy. Stalls selling local artefacts are dated....

from Monte Ortobene you can see and admire the view from the sea to the Gennargentu's montains. The walking path is nice, full of nature pleasant scent, expecially during spring. Such a pity to see pubblic buildings abandoned

Wonderful fresh air after the heat of the valley, and city. There is a bar/restaurant at the top and ice cream is available as well as the local beer!

The views from the top are great when you find them (follow the road near the top). The Pizzaria up there was unspohisticated but OK. Be sure to find the Retentadore statue (look for signs from the carpark).

We were looking for somewhere to stay which meant travelling on Monte Ortobene Road. And we're glad we did. Each level seemed to offer something different from a small patch of rainforest, for example, to stunning rock formations. Of course, the views are wonderful. It was certainly worth seeing as it is very beautiful.
