Its interesting to compare this church with others in italy and especially the facade which was only added in the 1930s. The highlight for us was the crypt which was very interesting so make sure you visit this area of the church.

This is a beautiful well maintained cathedral that is well worth seeing even if it is a bit of an uphill hike to get there. Construction dates back to the the 13th century and it has been renovated several times over the years. The altar...More

Not a great fan of all the churches and cathedrals you are taken to on holidays abroad but this one is quite impressive inside. Worth the walk and there are also nearby vistas of the city.

Speaking as a non-religious traveller, I do love going in Cathedrals for their beauty and to learn about religions in different countries, but one does tend to blend into another when you visit a lot. This one however stands out - its got lots of...More

Well worth a visit even on a crowded day. The ceilings and chapels are impressive and the crypt is a must. We just did not have enough time to take it all in. Allow time for this wonderful building.

this cathedral is a hard walk up hills - small but compact. Some lovely carvings. Some of the side chapels could have English translations - that would help

An amazing building with interesting history and relics . We visited as part of an organised walk which is well worth the cost . They can take you to the highest point then it's a nice walk down to the port

The cathedral's origins date to the thirteen century and it was built by architects from Pisa. The building has undergone many transformations and ideed only a few original elements, such as the side doors remain. Simply amazed.

Walking around when we came up to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria, we decided to go inside. We found it to be as nice and beautiful from the inside as it is outside. It was peaceful and very calming. Well worth a visit.

I have a similar question: How to get to Cagliari Cathedral from the cruise port? Is there a lift to go up to the Cagliari Cathedral? If yes, how to get to the lift from the cruise port? Or, if there is a bus going from the cruise port to Cagliari Cathedral? Or, if by taxi, what is the fair price from the cruise port to Cagliari Cathedral? Thanks.

Line 7 seems to connect the main boulevard with the old town, passing close to the cathedral. The Cathedral is situated in the centre of Cagliari, only a few hunderd metres from the boulevard. If you go up the Viale Regina... More
