Hike over the rocky cliffs with fantastic views!
Before the road that leads to the Capo descends again, there is a turnoff on the right where there is a sign saying you are not allowed to go there. But it is easy to do. The hiking tour leads past the fenced-off area above. You should use Komoot, for example, as a guide. There you will find the hike that leads past the restricted area. The path is well-trodden so you don't have much trouble following it. With the Komoot app, it's no problem at all. After the restricted area, you get close to the cliffs and have magnificent views. The path then continues downhill and ends at the car park that was initially on your right on the road and is already listed as a panorama point. From there, you can either go back up the road, depending on where your car is parked. Or you can continue on the other side of the car park and have another great view of the bay from above. It is absolutely doable, but not a run-of-the-mill route, so not every tourist goes there. If you don't just want to do the classic tourist tour of the grotto, this is the place for you. A certain level of sure-footedness is required. If you are afraid of heights you might get weak knees, but it's worth it (personal experience)!

    Capo Caccia
We went towards the end of the hours of operation (at around 6:15pm). It was far less crowded at that time. By 6:30pm, the line was non existent. Other reviews mentioned that you can traverse the steps without paying a fee. That was not possible when we went. You have to buy the tickets to go down the steps. The caves are beautiful (especially the first part you go to). After that area you can go deeper, although after a while I will admit we were anxious to get out. There is a guide who gives a talk to everyone in various languages (Italian, of course, as well as English). The walk takes you to several other chambers, and then you loop back and exit where you came in. The climb back up the stairs at around 7:30pm when the sun was setting was a little bit of a challenge. You need not be in peak physical shape, but it helps (bring water bottles with you). If you go at the end of the day, there is a road that takes you up to a good area to watch the sun set. If you are looking for some quick photos and have younger children, I would recommend just visiting the first and maybe second chambers and then circle back and exit for the long climb back up. Wear sneakers or shoes with treaded soles. It gets slippery.

    Hiking over Cliffs
We did a four-hour hike here, the view of the lake is just fantastic! However, you have to be sure of your feet, good footwear is also required. The circular hike is classified as moderately difficult on komoot, I would also appreciate it that way.

The most amazing place which I have ever visited 😍 if you still think about it you should definitely try!
Be ready for long stairs and better to book an appointment before you go to the place, as you had to wait. You can’t buy a ticket to cave without booking. One ticket costs 14€

Absolutely, to be visited !
500mt of vertical clif from the top, down to the deep blue see. Go from the top near the phare, going down the narrow walking way till the entrance of the Grotta of Nettuno. Great trekking.

Had not planned to visite the caves, as we figured the 640 steps seem a bit much and the boat trip wasn't on our plan. So during one one of our outings, we decided to just head to Cappo Caccia to get the view point. There we found out Cappo is a military zone, and couldn't go any further. So we decided to do the steps and visit the caves. Didn't regret it. Cave are beautiful, the steps are not that tough, you can take your time with breathtaking view points along the way. Glad we did it. Plenty of trails for hiking in the area.

What a waste of money. To many people on the tour meant that 75% of the group were not in situ where the guide was speaking and so had no idea what was going on. What should take 10 minutes lasted 30 minutes of excruciating boredom. They should only have a max of 20 on each trip but to maximise profit had 80 and we spent most of the time ignoring social distancing as we had no choice. By all means walk up and down the 654 steps but don’t bother with the guided tour, a computer waste of time.

Biggest tourist trap on the island of Sardinia. I was drenched in sweat by the end of the tour. I was scared for my life as I walked down the slippery rocks since the entire staircase was filled up with big men. Everywhere i looked i saw people dying of thirst. The rocks and guard rails were loose too, i almost saw someone fall off. The nets inside Neptunes Craphole were easy enough to cut off with a small scissor. Don’t come here if u want to experience a relaxing day, you’ll just end up smelling like a pig. They have no water fountains ANYWHERE on the steep, scary hike, so make sure to bring a dozen gallons of water. My foot also slipped on the rocks and I almost hit my head. If you’re over 5’4 this won’t be a good experience for you since you’ll be crouching the entire time. This was the biggest waste of my time and this tour needs to get shut down immediately. I feel like suing for endangerment to my family. I could’ve googled the images of the caves instead of walking for miles. One wrong step on the rocks and you’re done for.

Waiting, waiting, waiting, and some more waiting. Overpriced and overrated. Feared for my life driving up because the guard rails are Wooden. We had to wait 3 hours to get tickets and the employees were rude. They told us big Americans to get out of the way. Very rude. When climbing the mountain I feared for my life once again. Between the loose rocks, wooden guard rails, and lack of proper equipment I almost had a heart attack. I even tripped once and I was close to the edge. I don’t recommend this in any regard. Unless you came to Sardinia to sweat in the sweltering sun, don’t come. Enjoy the nice beaches and gorgeous waters. TOURIST TRAP

The road from Fertilia to Capo Caccia is a beauty. The high cliffs with the turquoise sea of Sardinia are a perfect combination. We did not went to see the famous Grotta di Nettuno but even only the road is very nice.

The landscape is indescribably very beautiful and rare. Priceless natural beauty, a feast for the eyes. One also notices rare plants growing on the rocks. The area is ideal for those who love diving

We took our satellite navigation device to get to the top. There are tours, but they are closed now as the numbers are low. We did our own hike. Once you reach the top after following satellite navigation (as there are no signage) there is no boundaries stating the danger of falling off the cliff. Very dangerous.

Absolutely stunning, with the combination of wild sea and cliff faces this is natural beauty epitomised. Basically the jist is that you can get on the hop on hop off bus from Alghero which takes you here..Note there are audio guides available on the bus and it gives you the opportunity to see some of the beautiful Sardinian countryside....the journey itself is about 2 hours.

When you get here you have to desend down 656 steps....It is on this descent that you will experience the stunning views. The desend down is not as treacherous as some reviews may put it, the steps are wide and there are some intermittent flat areas. However, just remember that as it's 656 steps down...It is also 656 back up again. For those that are less physically inclined this could be a struggle. There is an alternative option of getting a boat out here if you don't fancy the bus and steps...but cannot comment on that particular experience. I would advise that you have a good breakfast/lunch before you venture out here...There is a shop but it only has snacks. There is a solitary toilet in the shop...but there is only one and it's a hole In the ground!

Finally at the foot of the steps you will get a glance into the caves...you can pay to have tour inside. Personally I found the the tour pretty poor for the fee paid but if you made the effort to walk all the way down then you may as well!!
