While we were in Taranto, we went for a few walks along the promenade. It’s nice to watch the sun go down, but you can’t help but see a bay full of oil tankers and the sprawling oil refinery.

This long, tree-lined boulevard is cooling and shady to walk along in the hot summer months. It's situated along the sea-board with great views. There are plenty of places to stop and rest as well as vendors selling refreshments.

This walk is relaxing and from the bottom level you can look out onto a small beach and Mare Grande. Wild rocket grows along the pathway and it tastes great. The street level pathway is also pretty and the views to the water are good....More

the lungomare has 2 parts, one downside walking on a paved path between plants, and one higher, on the same altitude as cars. Here you walk under the trees in the shadow

It's a nice walking seaside area in Taranto. Just have an ice cream in nearby shop, enjoy the sea breeze and go for a walk. The lanterns along the street are lovely in the evening.

A pretty nice vantage point to view the coast from. Close enough to feel the sea air, but not close enough to notice too much of the trash. There is a very impressive building across the street.

Many kilometers starting from castello aragonese, this seafront area is the best thing to do in taranto. It ia a park, a jogging, walking area or just to seat and rest. Even you can only seat and watch sea view.

Running along the ocean, the lungomare is a great place to stroll, have an ice cream, watch the boats come in and out. There is also a walking path even closer to the ocean and just down below the street which is a nice strolling...More

Very polluted, not very clean and one chaotic place. We will not be back and we wouldn't recommend this city to anybody.
