If you are in Taranto, it’s nice for a stroll.
Sep 2018 • Couples
While we were in Taranto, we went for a few walks along the promenade. It’s nice to watch the sun go down, but you can’t help but see a bay full of oil tankers and the sprawling oil refinery.

Tranquil walk ...
Jul 2017 • Family
This long, tree-lined boulevard is cooling and shady to walk along in the hot summer months. It's situated along the sea-board with great views. There are plenty of places to stop and rest as well as vendors selling refreshments.

Lungomare - Along The Waterfront
Oct 2016 • Friends
This walk is relaxing and from the bottom level you can look out onto a small beach and Mare Grande. Wild rocket grows along the pathway and it tastes great. The street level pathway is also pretty and the views to the water are good. The tree lined walkway gives some much needed shade in the heat of the day.

Taranto is not for tourists
May 2016 • Couples
Only locals can enjoy this city as they live by memories, I do not think that there is another city in Europe so dirty, with horrible traffic due only to drivers who do not respect the basic drivig rules, people do not clean up after their dogs, you need to walk constantly looking down to avoid to step on it. Never seen illigal stands everywhere selling anything from mussels to chairs, plaztic containers....it is a market into the street. And all of this is surrounded by beautiful beaches only at 20 km from town and there is is even worse.

nice place to walk
Jun 2016 • Couples
the lungomare has 2 parts, one downside walking on a paved path between plants, and one higher, on the same altitude as cars. Here you walk under the trees in the shadow

Quite romantic

It's a nice walking seaside area in Taranto. Just have an ice cream in nearby shop, enjoy the sea breeze and go for a walk. The lanterns along the street are lovely in the evening.

One of the better places to view the coast
Mar 2016 • Solo
A pretty nice vantage point to view the coast from. Close enough to feel the sea air, but not close enough to notice too much of the trash. There is a very impressive building across the street.

Rest area
Many kilometers starting from castello aragonese, this seafront area is the best thing to do in taranto. It ia a park, a jogging, walking area or just to seat and rest. Even you can only seat and watch sea view.

Lovely walking area
Oct 2014 • Business
Running along the ocean, the lungomare is a great place to stroll, have an ice cream, watch the boats come in and out. There is also a walking path even closer to the ocean and just down below the street which is a nice strolling paved path and gets you even closer to the ocean.
