A decaying hodgepodge
Nov 2018 • Couples
We say San Domenico Maggiore as we passed in the 1/2 bus to the Castello. We returned to it after visiting the Castle and found it closed. However the exterior shows the hodgepodge of styles of additions and the lack of good renovations has lead to deterioration that is probably irreversible.

From the 14th century with later additions
Jan 2018 • Couples
This is an old building, containing paintings and an elaborate altar from the l7th and mainly l8th centuries, but it is not a thrilling work of architecture, and most of the paintings are of decent quality but not particuarly great works of art. It is likely to be closed much of the time, but if it's open, check it out. You will notice that the zigzag staircase is of a much different style from the rest of the church facade. The latter is the 14th century part.

Lovely Church

Another beautiful church in Taranto. From its grand entrance to the beautiful little alcoves around the inside, one of which is stunning but I will leave that for you to discover as it will take your breath away when you see it for the first time,

teple closed, but cloister worth
Jun 2016 • Couples
The temple is many times closed for visit. Go right and follow the way to right at the corner. There is a former cloister where there is a small exposition about 6500 years ago

Beuatiful old church.

I had the pleasure of walking by this church every day of my stay in Taranto. Fine details, I found it difficult to find an opening time and did not get to go in. The only times I saw it open were for services.
