First saw a picture of this villa forty years ago. It does not disappoint. Simply sensational. Palladio's masterpiece is beautifully presented, and just takes your breath away

We visited just for the exterior and gardens and found this wholly satisfying. I highly recommend you enhance your visit by making contact with Roberta Parlato who will take you on a tour of this site, and other sites around Vicenza, at a very reasonable...More

I have come to love the Paladio style. It is so simple yet stunning; it is eminently zen in its perfect proportions. I could have stayed in the garden forever, slowly pacing the parameter, admiring the statuary, taking pictures of roses on old stone walls.

This villa, of all I have seen, best represents Palladio's design philosophy as I understand it. The proportions are beautiful and, together with the garden and surrounding vistas, make an exquisite setting. I find the interior decoration a bit to busy for my taste, but...More

Beautiful villa that inspired Thomas Jefferson's Monticello home. Stunning views from the highway as you approach. To visit you need to pay attention to the signs directing you to the villa. If you get a chance to do the interior tour it is worth it.

Looked very much forward to this visit, but could not come in because they only accept cash. Seems a bit unprofessional, at best.

We followed the website instructions regarding parking, and then walked up to the Villa, only to find everyone else just parked on the street in front of it. The grounds are not particularly interesting and are rather small; the view of the house from walking...More

Must see if in Vicenza - there is an entrance fee but it's small and worth it. Beautiful place to take pictures and just enjoy looking at the surroundings.

We visited both the exterior and interior of this Palladian villa on a sunny day. On a hillside outside of Vicenza the location is a perfect setting for this stunning villa which was the inspiration for so many great homes in Britain as well as...More

Is La Rotonda walkable from Vicenza centro? If so, how long? If not, how would we get there without a car. Thank you.

Depending on how much you like walking you may walk the distance of about the two miles mentioned above, but if you are a family I would prefer taking a taxi to La Rotunda. Remember to see the opening hours for the inside of... More
