This is a wonderful museum that is relatively small in size and can easily be seen in an hour or so. It is located directly across from the Teatro Olimpico. I recommend that you purchase the museum pass and see both exhibits for a reasonable price.

The building is worth seeing alone. The art inside is outstanding too. Tiepolo's Apollo is an uncensored sight! The basement collection of toys lead soldiers etc is vast and interesting. In the attic the personal collection of (?) is eclectic & includes photos of Princess Margaret not to mention an outstanding sketch by Sargent.…

Very beautiful museum and Palazzo that is worth the visit. Beautiful collection of art in addition to the Palazzo. There is an antique toy exhibit in the basement that is EXCEPTIONAL. I have never seen better anywhere in the world. I suggest you include this Palazzo in your visit to the Teatro Olimpico. …

Just across the piazza from the Teatro Olimpico is this palace, designed in 1550 by Palladio for the Chiericati family. It now houses the Vicenza city art collection most of which was gathered together in 1810 to keep them out of the hands of the marauding French! There are paintings by Veronese, Memling, Tintoretto, Tiepolo and local artists such as Montagna. Apart from the paintings, the rooms are embellished by stucco and plasterwork and some wonderful decorated ceilings and frescoes. The basement areas have recently been restored and re-opened and contain temporary exhibitions and rooms used by the domestic staff of the palace. Up in the attic rooms is a small collection of drawings and watercolours. The Vicenza Museum Card gets you in for free!…
